    Hello.
I've uninstalled exhaust mainfold from my ABY engine and one thread breaked somewhere inside the head

    dremel

If it's inside the head and there's nothing to grip to it then it's a machine shop job, you could try an Ezee out but wouldn't recommend this.

What's 'Ezee'? Are there no tools to get that shity thing out?
I guess I'll have to take off the head and get it to machine shop as you sayd.

Yea those bolt extractors have a habit of snapping in the very thing your trying to get out, that just makes the job harder for everyone.

            Quick google http://www.brokentap.com/easy-outs.html

Any pics of it? I cannot find any info about that tool. Also forum searcher spots only this topic.
              Yes. Engine still in.

Edit: thanks for the google link.

I, like Jamo assumed they would be Ezee as an americanism! A search of 'Easy Out' is better.

Has it snapped flush with the head? Or is there some sticking out still?

Its not sticking out. Its totaly in the head.
When tryed to uninstall the 12mm nut, it come so easy, I havent even to try hard to get it out. I gues it already was breaked before.

I'll take some pictures after a hour or two.

That's what you'd do with an easy out, I was taking the mick with the spelling as there is nothing easy about an easyout

hopefully someone will manage to remove it with an easyout for you. the engine may need to be out though (or head) depending on where it is...

hardest bit with easy-outs is drilling the pilot hole for them - especially on the exhaust side of the head with the canted over

As Jamo said its either the tried and tested Dremel method, or some people (nieve probably ) would take the head off and get it to a mchine shop and get it extracted properly and save the threads in the head

Yup, BTDT. Was a good excuse for a rebuild and a bit of porting work

I am not a great fan of Ez outs - they are very hard and if you snap them are incredibly difficult to remove - spark erosion springs to mind. Persoanlly i have had little to no success with them and would avoid.

If the stud / bolt broke off in the head then IMHO it's a head off to drill out and run a tap through.

If part of the stud is showning then could possibly weld a nut onto it (subject to access).

                            Good luck either way...

                              which stud is it?

Maybe you can get away with not using it?

This would not be ideal of course but might save you a few hundred quid..

P.s. i have used easy out's on 3 snapped EM studs. 2 worked like a charm, then the drill bit got weak, i got sloppy and didnt drill 100% in the center so used a smaller hole and stud extractor and it snapped off.

The machine shop charged £4 to drill it out and re coil it.

If a bit of the stud was sticking out you would get a drill chuck round it and use that too unwind it, i did this on a cam cap stud.
