Urgent! What color is the L-wire?

I know that it is white with red stribe in ABY, but I dont have that color.

I looked at the white plug in the fuse box and L-wire is green with blue stripe. However something is up with that because that wire is TPS signal and I checked it.

So I really need to know the bloddy color of the L-wire at the ECU.

What the 'ell is the "L wire"?

There is no device named "L" so what is the wire?

Now if you asked about "G" strings, then I would have an answer.

For diagnostic purposes. The loom has a 'K' wire and an 'L' wire aswell as a pair of power wires.

You need the wire colour list (e.g. S2central.net)

Oh you THAT "L" wire, the one connected to pin 13/55 on the ECU connector?

For the ABY and the AAN, the wire is white with a red stripe HOWEVER, as noted in the ECU wiring diagrams on S2central.net, for the 3B, the Pin 13 wire is black with a white stripe. That is likely the answer.

          Thats the one

I tried to ohm out the black/white wire, but it did not have connection at pin 13.

Strange thing is that the wire is green/blue at the plug in the fuse box and the K-wire is green/red. But at the ECU plug the green/blue is for TPS and the green/red is K-wire. So color coding is correct for TPS and K-wire but appently not for L-wire.

So the L-wire is missing in action, but I guess I have to take the damn ECU plug apart, was just hoping to avoid that.

Jonas - check carefully in the fusebox... The K & L wires present themselves on eyelet connectors in the top left corner of the main fusebox. Another series of eyelets links those to the white OBD connector. Have a good check that all those wires are clean and secure... Pin 13 on the ECU connects to this eyelet terminal - not directly to white plug - so check you don't have any missing connections.

There are sometimes a few other vias used between ECU and OBD plugs... Depends on model year primarily - this is why colours vary a bit.

              @S2central.net

I currently hooking up permanent VAGCOM connection to my car PC. Therefor I'm splicing into the wiring loom at the ECU and since I'm a lazy ******* I was not in the mood to take apart the ECU connector.

But it does seem that I have to do this to get the correct color.

I already looked at the wires in the main fusebox and loosent the eyelet, but as I mentioned wire color are not the same.

Looking at schematic for 3B - it seems the K & L wires only go direct to ECU connector so you will have to tap into that part of the loom or open the connector hood.

Yup I read that as well, but if they go directly from fuse box to ecu, then I think it is strange that the wire colors don't match.

Already tapped into the K-wire since green/red and thought I tapped the L-wire green/blue, but that turned out to be TPS signal. So guess there is only one way open up the connector hood.
