sorry. cant add anything else really other than future hope.

it can stick a bit if not removed for a bit. must say the springs on mine are heavy duty it seerms and need a bit of compression to fit back

IIRC my mate had an urs4 and his stuck a little with residue over time.

also doing this job cold helps

i remember though the throttle damper was a pita

      Cheers all

It is probably the plug boots as suggested. Will apply a little more force this evening to see what happens!

Coil pack cover came off nice and easy once I knew to expect a little resistance. Everything looks in order with the coil pack and wiring etc.

what size plug spanner do I need? looks 15/16, TIA!

Everything on Audi / VW tends to be 13 / 15 / 17 / 19, get spanners and sockets in them sizes and you should be able to do just about anything - not like this french crap that has a different size head on every bolt they used like they just dipped their hands in to a bucket of odds and sods lol

As said above tho, once plugs are done, its worth going back to double check they havent loosened off at all - Its much quicker the 2nd time around having learnt whats needed to be done from changing them

Just had service done, but they were unable to remove No. 3 plug - apparently it moved slightly, but they were concerned the plug may break. Any suggestions on an effective way to remove a siezed plug without damaging the head ? I intend to try regular doses of easing oil.

Run the engine and then remove plug while it's hot, the aluminium thread in the head expands more than the steel spark plug when hot.

Thanks for the advice - plug now replaced.

Good job I was reminded to turn the engine off - I kept getting electric shocks whilst removing the top cover !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
