MAF related problem, but not MAF itself ?

    Car is 200 20V, 3b engine with RS2 components.
After installing all RS2 components, car never run like it should (boost almost nonexistent under 4500 rpm, lean mixture at same rpm range; according to AFM connected to standard lambda). MAF was the suspect, so I tried 4 different MAFs available to me and car was running beter with one of them, but not even close as it should.
However, it got even worse today; car just stalled. It can be restarted, but it's running only if I apply throttle, very bad, and producing a lot of smoke. When I disconnect MAF connector, it run "normal" eg. as it should with disconnected MAF.
Did anyone have experience like that ? I will be checking connector and wires leading to MAF, but can someone give me some useful hint what to start with ?

    Thank you,
    Mario

Issue from subject happend to be disconected turbo-intercooler hose (didn't see it @ night), so I'm back where I was (boost almost nonexistent under 4500 rpm, lean mixture at same rpm range; according to AFM connected to standard lambda). My primary suspect is still some electrical gremnil in MAF connections, but another questin crossed my mind: how would bad turbo behave ? I bought mine @ ebay.
Is it normal for RS2 turbo to make some serious boost only above 4500 rpm?

    Thanks,
    Mario

No way! you should be seeing max boost way before then.

First question is, has the car been remapped properly for the current setup? If your running rs2 injectors or bigger with the old FPR and with out remapping its going to run very lean. What boost where you expecting, RS2 turbo can make 1.9 bar easy - maybe more if the conditions are right.

Have you got any other air leaks? Is the DV venting back to the inlet or to atmosphere?
I would defiantly suggest not to drive it till you sort it out.

Check all the vacuum lines too. Maybe something is unplugged

The car has not been remaped for current setup - I'm not aware of anyone doing that in Croatia. Instead, I went the other way around - bought "generic" 3b RS2 software from a guy on german meckis forum, and tried to match components as per specification. Organised as I am, I bought pressure test kit and lost it somewhere - I'm awaiting Andy's info if he have any more available. Tried to find any boost leaks without kit and found none, but it's quite unreliable method.
DV is 034 item, venting back to the inlet. Also, I'm in the process of replacing all the "vacuum" lines with silicone ones.

Once above 4500 rpm the car starts to go, I'm getting up to 1.7 bar, but it "cuts out", same as it did while I actually had vacuum leak. Must wait for the kit to arrive, but could that vacuum leak also be guilty for bad turbo performance at mid rpm range ?
Also, AFM instrument shows lean mixture up to 4500rpm (at full throtle), but it goes to "rich" above that rpm, once boost raise. Fuel pressure do raise with boost, and it's not oscilating when cutting occur.

        Setup is as follows:
        - RS2 turbo
        - original RS2 exhaust manifold
        - 034 RS2 replica injectors
        - 034 BPV
        - 4 bar FPR (I have around 3.8 bar at idle)
        - 3B rs2 software, said to be working at 1.9 bar
        - big FMIC (what are the chances that guys who was doing my piping messed is so bad it don't have enough capacity at some corner ?)

        Thanks,
        Mario

And how about dizzy ? Is it possible that dizzy is not adjusted 100% right, but car still runs ?
