driving the car today, same as i always do (enthusiastically) had been driving it no problems for a good 30+ miles
slowed into a roundabout, had to stop as there were cars already on it, went to pull away and it did then almost instantly sounded like a back fire into the airbox and the car stuttered to a halt.
started it again, had to give it a bit of throttle, revved it and it sounded a little lumpy then off the throttle and it just died again, did this a few times, same thing....
as it happened had a spare MAF in the boot (2 infact) swapped it over, same, put the 2nd spare on, same
unplugged the MAF started it, and it ran and idled fine managed to drive it home (very gutless, no power)
open the throttle more than about 50% and it felt like it does when its out of fuel (sort of pulling the car back)
got home, unplugged the battery and replugged in the MAF (2nd spare, known to be good) plugged the battery back in, still the same. So repeated this with the origional MAF, same....
any ideas?
