Certainly plenty food for thought here.
    I think i'll go down the 3071 3071 with 63 ar route.
As Bo says not great pub figures but i don't care. Prime example with my mates old evo i mentioned.
First things first i'll need to get intouch with Aelred and sort out a time frame and cost to do the work on the bottom end. If things work out right i'm hoping to pull the engine at the beginning of January (hope it's not snowing)
I'd like to have pulled the engine when i get home this time (i work away for 4 weeks on and then 4 off) but i realy want to get the car running spot on first (still got boost / fuleing issues) also need to finnish pulling the engine from my 3B to rob the fly wheel.

that is what i initially was after. 450hp,but this turbo will only get there if you really port the head, get some different timing and possibly get bigger/different exhaust to be able to push high boost on higher revs. Out of the 2 3071 turbos the 0.82ar should be able to go more towards the 450hp mark. Otherwise the car will be around the 400hp on various different dynos.

If you are interested in the numbers then you may be dissapointed on a dyno session, or be more or less ok.
GT3071R turbo is a bit tricky to map nicely on motronic.Apparently it can spool quite low, but with motronic it seems to surge and get boost flutter. I never had these problems once i switched to VEMS and boost comes soon and crisp.Indeed this setup is a very good everyday car, however it may still struggle next to an M3 and certainly an EVO. That also has to do with weight.

when i used the 3071R with the motronic the car pulled hard after 4000rpm on 3d gear and it seemed quite nice for everyday driving.Which is why im going for a bigger turbo solution that will hopefully not exceed the 4000rpm mark.(and has lots of potential)

There's also the cost of the turbo, plain bearing turbos are around half the price of the fancier BB turbos FWIR.

Don't discount an RS2+ setup either, the RS2 turbo is a very good option, even more so when unleashed on a strengthened engine. A 360 degree bearing upgrade would do well and in combination with a flow job, Wagner IM, IC and EVO EM it would be serious (ask Bo on this one). Low on pub figures but high on daily driveability.
Who can do the 360 degree bearing in the k24 7200?? My RS2 turbo it is totally new ( 6000kms) but i think that with this upgrade it can work with more than 2.0bar boost?? or not??

As i said i'm not too worried about figures as long as end up with a nice amount of power i'm happy.
Not to sure about vems, i've read a lot about problems getting the car to run right when it's cold ect, but i wouldn't rule it out tho.
I'll speak to mcr and see what they recomend too. As much info i can get the better all the pros and cons of differant set ups.
The last thing i want is a car that i'm not happy with, whether it be because it is too laggy or not enough power, hoping to find a nice compromise.

Talking about stand alone vs Motronic, is there any software around for Motronic with a little MAF over 400-500hp?

i have been told that motronic can be mapped with maf in place using the GT3076R turbo, which is almost 500hp +/-. so you can map succesfully is the answer.
Above that, you either need bigger maf+ motronic, or aftermarket ECU

I don't have one if that makes scence. Basically i'll spend what i have to spend on the car. Just got married a few weeks ago and she's on about children already, but i've got no plans for them for about a year. Basically want to get the car to a good standard before that happens as she'll want to have a say in what i spend my money on

Wish id used the money from the wedding, i think 17k would have sorted the car out. I don't think she would have been too chuffed tho lol

Have you got the chassis sorted, brakes etc.? You'll need exhaust sorted too. My car requires engine rebuild, turbo & EM, injectors, clutch and remap and I guess £5-6k for a 3071 or £3-4k for an RS2 setup, that's having spent about £6-7k on sorting the chassis and ancillaries... For your power requirements I'd suggest you could spank £8-10k easily on the engine and a further £6-7k on brakes, exhaust, chassis etc. Call it £15k for ease of working. Or buy Audiman's old car that's on Pistonheads for £8 or £9k!

                            Good luck with it

It makes 510bhp and 560nm of torque and is quite drivable, but off course with some lag with the big turbo.
Would deffo keep 2,2L as i think it has better respons then a stroker engine, even tho the stroker makes more torque
There is no difference in throttle response, infact my stroker with the single mass flywheel has a better response than the 2.2 with a dual mass
