    More car problems!!!

Got up at 6am this morning to leave for the ferry.

Car woant start, tried for about an hour.
Even tried to get a tow start but still nothing.

    Its getting spark and fuel.

Pulled the ignition leads out to check the spark plugs and hole 2 is full of oil up to the spark.

    wtf is that all about?

Am going to get the car somewhere dry now and take them cam cover off, i hope the cylinder is not full off oil.

If one hole is full off oil would it stop the car from turing over properly and starting?

Normally spark plug hole should not contain oil. If it's from head cover gasket leak - it is not influencing startup at all. If it's from cylinder - then your car may had loose spark plug (lots of posts in this forum due to this).

If cylinder was full of oil, after tow start you usually need new bits in the engine (like connrod), or whole engine due to hydro impact (if the spark plug was not spit away).

However if you getting fuel and spark - 20vt should start. Even on four cylinders. Something doesn't match here. Maybe some stupid car alarm system is not used to salty marine air?

Is the pin still in the fly wheel for tdc? if you have been poking around there for the clutch?

          Sparks on all the leads?

Oil in plug hole is prob cam cover gasket leaking, either hardenened from old age or overheating or blown out by pressure in crankcase. replace reseal and check PCV system if you have it.
