RS2 engine rebuilding, what are the best components?

Hello friends, I have decide to rebuilding the engine of my RS2 also if is not really necessary because the oil problem is caused from the turbo, but I prefer also rebuilding the engine. I want change all the 20 seal valve steam and all the 5 piston ring, so I need also a new head gasket and new head bolt. What are the best components for you? The OEM Audi or not?

valve guides as well if your going to do all that. id have thought.

the head gasket OEM is super, VIKTOR REINZ IS OK
if you will change a crankshaft berings use a KOBELN SCHMIDT (but it must be SPUTTER)
head bolt -the best are ARP

if you are not shure what to take- find something (made in Germany).

All new exhaust manifold, turbo studs. Maybe i forgot some gaskets and other small things.

Servicing

Intercooler, oil sump, cooling system cleaning. Cylinder head cheking and base polishing ( 0,07 mm), valves shortened for 1 mm, cylinder head valve guide change (valves are in good condition, wear < 0,01 mm), valve/engine head V- form polishing, some cylinder head flowing.

I think that details and services are necessary for full engine rebuild.

alessio,
buying an original RS2 turbo from audi is the signle most expensive buy you can make. The turbo alone will cost more than 1800euros and with the same amount of money since you are rebuilding the engine you can have a car with 400-450hp easy.

Search in this forum and try and avoid mistakes that we did in the process of restoring and upgrading the engine

Hello, I will pay the original Turbo about 1400 € from Audi by a friend, I know that is a high price, but I don't want modify too much my RS2, I want some invisible upgrade and not more.
I'm undecided also if mount the Wagner Evo exhaust manifold and Evo Intercooler or leave the original parts because I have read somewhere here that Evo exhaust manifold can increase the turbo lag and Evo intercooler that is a bit bigger that the original one can also increase turbolag or not? I can't mount the reverse inlet manifold with his intercooler because is a too hard visible modify for me.

as i already said, i use the 3071garrett, it spools almost as fast as the rs2 turbo, it fits with the all the rest of the rs2 parts and you cannot tell that you have it in there or there is just the original turbo, and you will be able to make almost 100+ more hp.

the wagner parts will make the lag worse only slightly,but with a BB turbo you wont tell the difference

For 1400 euros you'd be better buying the Turbo dynamics hybrid that DJones runs

You would be extremely silly to pay this price for the RS2 turbo when you could get better performance for the same price.

Hello I know that with 1400 € I can buy a better turbo that the original RS2 one, but probably the problem is not the turbo but the seal valve stem, now the question is, which are the best parts for rebuild the engine? Original Audi parts or for example ARP head studs, Sputter rod bearings lower and upper? Other parts that I can change with better ones?

my opinion is that if you want to get the best with the same money, go for aftermarket parts.
