    Stock piston Question

Hi, i am sure that the answer is somewhere in the forum but i need a quick answer.

i had the following data for the pistons:

    10 Rod/Stroke Ratio 1.66667 1.65445
    11 Compression Height 32.8 30.25
    12 Ring Package (mm) 22.8 18.75
    13 Displacement (cc) 2226.09439 2491.02671
    14 Compressed HG (mm) 1.875 1.875
    15 Head Gasket Bore(mm) 82.5 82.5
    16 Bore Area (cm^2) 51.52996 52.16810
    17 Cylinder head cc's 44 44
    18 Head gasket cc's 9.66187 10.02303
    19 Piston Dish cc's 2 12.5
    20 Cylinder BDC cc's 445.21888 498.20534
    21 Total Volume BDC 500.88075 564.72837
    22 Total Volume TDC 55.66187 66.52303
    23 Compression Ratio 8.99863 8.48922

Problem is the piston manufacturer says that the sample piston paul send has a total volume dish and pockets of 4.6 cc

    what is right?

    thanks in advance

in general we leave this to the piston people billman.

there may be some on here that can help.

why dont you go for the available tried and tested pistons rather than having a cusrom one for you. it would be easier and less prone to issues.

yeah, what is so wrong with Wiseco´s / JE?

One thing i've learned we are way behind the Scandinavians!

The wrong thing is i dont like wiseco and JE doesnt make pistons for a stroker with the conrod i have. Appart from this no one has this info?

I gave to the man this data i had from Justin Olson and it doesnt match the measurements they make! The possibilities are: They measured wrong piston or justin had an error in the file.

JE will make pistons to any spec that you want. Easiest way is to base it on there standard S2 pistons and then channge the aspects about you build which are different.

JE and Wiseco have done stroker pistons for the 155m and 159mm rods

If it's different they'll just change the spec.

With so many strokers out there what makes yours special they can't make the pistons?

                .

And my 7A stroker on 144mm rods.

Exactly 158mm should be easy to make, all that needs to be done is move the compression height and recalculate the dish cc

i think Billman has rods with 22mm pin rather than 20mm.One of the differences may be that.

44cc for head volume is a bit on a small side. I would say 47cc is more typical.

Although, there has been quite a fluctuation, from 45 to 49cc, but I think 44 is planed a lot.

I have 22mm wrist pins on my JE pistons as well it makes no odds to the piston company as they can build any spec

                              @repo

                              thanks

the volume of the stock dish: 4.6cc in the piston is correct, the dish is 59.5mm dia x 1.44mm deep = 4.0cc + the valve pockets
