    Crank vent froze

Yesterday was the first cold day of this winter and my Coupe's crankcase vent froze. The car wouldn't idle and start. When I popped the hood I saw that the engine was oily around the oil cap and under pressure. So I cleaned the crank vent hose and now there's the problem that the car idles rough...like some cylinders misfire.

Is it a passing problem? Do I have to check anything else after I clean the crank vent hose?

Have you checked that the rest of the vent hose is free and working correctly?

I plugged the hose that goes to the intake manifold and the crankcase pipe vents straight to the atmosphere at the moment.

Is it safe to drive the car and see if the misfire problem goes away?
