some GT30/76R magic

[Masterblaster]

i saw it a couple of days at zatzy.com on another s2.
i might install one as well...i like the stealthstyle

[speeding-g60]

yep i saw the shift light as well as the 5500 rpm first gear shift....

[fasterthenrs2]

I love 5 cil audis, but 6500rpm and 4 shifts before hit 200kms no way that thing was in a 10ns

[nemilosu]

something is rotten

i think that is the same car, at least by name.

Remember it's a stroker 6500 rpm shifts sounds perfectly right

Simple matching for 600hp with a 2.5litre shows the following:

http://www.squirrelpf.com/turbocalc/index.php?version=4&target_peak_power=600&pr_ref=14.7&engine_disp=2.5&engine_disp_factor=0&target_af=12&bfsc=0.43&max_ic_loss=2&rpm_redline=6500&rpm_peak_power=5500&rpm_max_boost=3800&rpm_min_boost=3000&vol_1=89&vol_2=93&vol_3=90&vol_4=87&vol_1=89&vol_2=93&vol_3=90&vol_4=87&intake_temp_1=90&intake_temp_2=120&intake_temp_3=135&intake_temp_4=140&turbo_n=1&map_sel0=109

So it would be running far outside the primairy efficiency islands (choking point of map not defined).
But even more interesting, the compressor has to be running in a lot of overspeed to reach that performance.

This is what it looks like if you keep it at 525hp:

See posts 12 & 14, those are garrett theoretical maps, the real life use give higher results.

Most tuners acknowledge this like 034, a4kquattro, Repo etc etc

[pixsaudisex2]

Anybody else notice the shift light in the dash? that's a pretty neat trick

I was wondering what that was... but now you say that o yeah....

[GazzaG60]

how longs it gonna last running outside efficiency is the question. 600hp and replace the turbo every 6 months?

nhot saying its not possible just its not really what its designed for.

Theoretical maps? Come again?

These maps are verified by the R&D sections of Garrett, and are showing the actual air flow results for this compressor. These aren't guesstimated guidelines but hard facts!

There is no such thing as a margin on a compressor wheel.. Quality checks during the assembly of a turbocharger examine the specification of each turbo, in some instances they flowtest the entire turbo as well. Don't think that there is something like a 10% deviation in flow results between turbochargers... there is no margin!

So to cut the bullcrap, if you reach such levels of performance as previously quoted, you are running the turbo in an area where it wasn't designed for.
Sure, because of the reliability of the Garrett product they still operate as they do, but they will never reach the normally expected life time regardless of what these 'tuners' can accomplish with it.

It's waiting for the first bearing problems, and turbinewheel trying to escape.. and then we will all blame Garrett for it's poor reliability.
If you really want to know what you are doing you need to mount a turbo speed sensor. I will garanty you that every turbo in the 600+ hp region is operating far over it's maximum speed.

Is that a 0-200 k/h in 11 sec ?

how much can we do 0-200 with around 350 hp ?

Cheers

[repo]

So, turbo flow stops at the point where compressor map hits 60% efficiency?

Also, all strokers produce same amount of horsepower per every gram of air indulged?

Oxygen included in the mixture in racefuel or E85 has no influence?

And further, tell me maximum revs of that turbo? 144956rpm and after that it just stops flowing?

You act like someone peed to Your cereal. Shareowner perhaps?
