    Injector questions

Hey everyone, I'm trying to narrow down what injectors to use. These will be on a AAN running vems and a holset hy35 converted to use an external gate. My target bhp is 400. I can't remember if vems uses high or low impedance injectors, but I believe I need about 55 lbs units for my goals. My real question is this, are all injectors external dimensions the same? I would like to investigate the possibility of maybe using Chevy or Ford injectors since they are more available in the states. I worry that they may not actually fit in the fuel rail though. Also has anyone switched the AAN fuel rail over to AN fittings, particularly on the front of the rail? I need the lines to route to the p/s of the vehicle to hook into the existing Porsche lines instead of the d/s. I saw that 034 has a rail for the AAN. I could use that and a remote AFR instead of the stock units, ideas?

ford injectors are in general bosch. they are physically the same. i have used ford motorsport red tops in the past on a G60 corrado. the 33lb ones. go for a set of the 44lb ones for your target.

i run seimmens 006 in mine with vems.

rail and fpr are good for yor target

So you think 44 lb units are large enough for my goal with the stock pr? What is the flow rate of the 006 units you mentioned? Thanks for the assistance.

I5 power is injector size. so 44lb will see over 400hp. fpr is 4 bar.

006 are 630cc IIRC. i run precision sc6152e turbo and vems.

put an 044 pump in. the stock ones are not upto 400.

there is potential for more maybe with the holset. i have used precision 550cc before. they too are bosch size so fit fine.

Agreed with Gazza here... 42 or 44lb is fine for 400bhp. The rated 44lb spec is for a 3bar fuel pressure, but you have 4bar so plenty of headroom.

Problem with the Bosch greentop 44lb injectors is that they have a pencil beam spray pattern designed for 2v engines. 4v engines are better off with a cone spray pattern (Siemens, etc) or dual beam (Genesis)

Is anyone using the genesis 550cc injectors? They look to be high impedance so they would work with vems fine, but I don't know anything about if the external dimensions and the electrical connector are compatible with my setup. I will most likely be switching out the fuel rail to the 034 or efi express unit and adding an aeromotive afpr to help with fuel plumbing issues in my application. Thoughts?

Buy the siemens 60 lb injectors you can buy them for $50 each and you are future proofing your system as it's easy to use them with vems

I want a set, i've been doing some reading on them and they are very good.

I contacted usrt yesterday and here is the reply that I received.

Thanks for the interest, LeRoy. The G550 are shorter than the AAN's original
injectors. However, they can be lengthened with what we call "unspacers".
Here's an example of what I'm referring to:

                            pg

The electrical connectors are also different. However, they are also easily
                            adapted with these 1-piece converters:
US Rally Team : Page Not Found - Engine, Fuel + Spark, Transmission, Decals, Water/Methanol Injection, Suspension, Exhaust, Forced Induction, Brake Systems, Fittings (AN + NPT),

Another option is to go with the Siemens 630cc injectors which will fit
directly. The spray pattern isn't quite as advanced, but it still works
great. What else may I share with you/let you know?

Are these the 006 injectors that you are talking about Gazza? I thought is was pretty cool that usrt actually recommended a cheaper unit then what I asked about.
