Did the engine slap when cold? I have 0.0035 on my JE and have no issues so far touch wood

The engines already built and made .... Running fine untill blue smoke and found the seals come adrift..firstly you need to do it the opposite way.
measure the piston and have the bore done to the tolerence stated. each bore will be slightly different due to different size pistons. you need to ensure the correct piston is in the correct bore.
a machine shop should be able to ensure they are in the correct hole.
maybe best to get the head checked over again and new sweals fitted.
I was wondering if they got to hot or something, An the thing flys so i will put it back together an to be fair if i get another 400 miles out of it it will be worth it because it certainly flys...

Neil hope you're not going to have the problems I have had with my engine.

To quote" Manufacturer’s specification stipulates a 0.003-4” bore clearance on their standard range of pistons using the mathematical formulae on their instructions."
Lets hope that you don't have short skirt pistons as they need tighter clearance than above. You also don't hear slap on short skirt pistons.
I think you should get a piston out and check the clearance is correct and see what pistons you have.
Good luckComment

No the seals looked ok still but they just dont seem to fit on the guides like a glove as i would expect,,, Think its going to have to be a suck an see moment,,,Is this the same issue http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24900

the only saving grace i have is mines built on a shoe string thats why im half thinking o well easy come easy go... An when it goes bang (if even) il just buy a engine outta a S4 for cheap money and put that in...Comment

O that was another question i had for you all do GT3071r turbos sound er well like a knakered wheel bearing when you turn of the engine...

because the seals dont seem to fit as good as i would like..( not going into who fitted them as well i dont like calling people plonkas etc on a forum..)
Ani built the engine and well its my fault for not seeing the problem as built it... An loctite is a perfect answer if you ask me...

As a general rule of thumb when it comes to guides and stemseals on these engines two things can go array.
1) new guides fitted but not honed to correct clearances will cause heavy wear on the stem of the valve causing smoke on long idle and overun.
2) fitting of cheap stemseals from elring and sometimes victor reinz fail on the exhaust side from excessive heat created on either bigger turbo/chipped cars. This will only ever cause smoke issues on startup. Which is why so many race cars run no stemseals for the extra couple of hp, their only function is to stop oil dripping down the stem when the car is parked up as during operation it requires this oil for lubrication.UrS6 Stroker + HTA3586 =

When you switch your motor of the turbo will carry on spinning there should remain enough oil in it for at least upto a minute of spinning after shut down. If on the other hand it starts to run rough like a knackered wheel bearing there is an indication your oil has thinned too much from being the incorrect heat grade. Mine runs fine on fully synthetic ester based 5w40 but this is only good for continous oil temps around 100celsius through to 110celsius. If you are seeing hotter temperatures silkolene 10w50 is the one to go for.
If you are not seeing 110+celsius temps then either a) your afterun system isn't functioning keeping the turbo cool boilibg the oil in the turbo on shutdown or b) you are driving the car too hard just before shut down, I normally ease of the throttle upto 2miles from home/destination and let her idle for 30secs till the EGT's drop below 450celsius.
As for seals smoking at idle, from experience only when hand in hand with guide/valve stem failure. The amount of oil that passes down the guides at idle if properly clearanced is not enough to show significant smoke out the exhaust. The only other thing I have come across aswell if new guides have been fitted. If they are poor quality ones or not installed with the correct driver and centre pilot to stop them collapsing I've seen people clearance them with a reamer which gets rid of the oil retaining honing marks within the guides causing early failure from lack of lubrication it's like having glazed bores but within the guides.
