    My S2 hit 3 Bar earlier...yikes !!

outside temp was 3 degrees C.

Fairly short dual carriageway drive to the local tesco to get the bird some tat.

Put the loud pedal down and the boost goes off the gauge

The gauge is very reliable and it goes to 2 bar, but the needle flicked way past it, almost like another full bar!!

The car slightly vibrates at this point, as in the back of my mind i always thought over 2 bar on a standard aby block you get the banana pistons???
    Spec is :

    Rs2 turbo,manifold,intercooler,green injectors,headgasket. Mapped by Minhea.

    What could be causing this?

When i got the car just before xmas it drove ok, but then i replaced all hoses, pipes, clips etc and boost was noticably improved. holds 1.5 ish to redline if i remember seeing right.

I know if i let this continue its going to cost me mega bucks. I know its cold, but it aint that cold

rs2 turbo cant make 3bar, not even if you have a 360 bearing and a bleed valve fitted which you dont have. Unless your running your car on some special fuel thats making the turbo spin 10 times faster...
    Sounds exciting though!

what boost gauge is it? digital?

id have a stab at the n75, pull it off and clean it and the connector.
and check the line to the wastgate cap isn't split

              cleaning is free too.

boost gauge is autogauge, its defo accurate as ive had it in all but 1 of my s2;s.

WGFV looks fairly new. It would boost to just under 2 bar maximum, now way over

1st disconnect the N75 valve and see if you still get that boost level. If you do you've got a stuck wastegate most likely.

Also are you sure on the wiring of the pipes? you say you put new pipes on are they all on in the correct place.

jamo most defo pipes are all in the right places. so wastegate possibly maybe stuck? Maybe needs a bit of lube?

I've made a mistake conecting N75 wrong way. Boost went past 2bar with K24 on some MTM chips. Shaking the needle ower 1,7 and at 2bar imediate koncking.

If there's aleak in the pipe to the WG or the WGFV the WG will not open, I'd suspect a pipe myself. also a few times lately when its very cold my WGFV has got stuck in closed position which means boost will go off the scale. Be really careful with this if you are on stock rods, this is the way to bend them.

Could be a hole in the WG diaphragm.

Edit, just remembered. The other thing I've had was a leaky WGFV which also caused excess boost.
