    ABY Overboost?

The kind of overboost you want rather than the kind you don't want

How do you get this to happen reliably? I went out with a mate yesterday lunchtime and it did it twice when I was going through the gears, coming in with a sudden rise in power, a nice push in the back and showing about 16PSI on the gauge. Last night I went out and gave it some and it didn't do it

Please ABY drivers, share your experience

I think it only kicks in below 3k and on WOT, but it is a good feeling when it hits you.
Just some finishing touches to do now

IIRC it only does it in 3rd-6th gear?
Anyway, get it homefried and you wont have to worry about it!

Low RPM, high load, press the accelerator hard (like I told you ) It's a complete waste of time, Homefries gets rid of it and gives you 1.5(ish) bar all the time, much better

Rapidly mash your foot to the floor!! Usually works for me!

I also find that it helps to be in too high a gear/revs below 2k rpm or going up hill when you do mash you foot to the floor.

As a above it is activated by rapid application of wot but it is not very reliable - hence why I dialled it out of hmefries for much more dependable boost at wot

The thing is, how often do you find yourself in the situation where you are in a high gear at low revs unless you purposely do it yourself?
              It's a bit pointless really!

Exactly. If you want to overtake someone, you drop it down a gear or two.
It is fun to try and get overboost to work though!

It's a marketing gimmick, nothing more really, just something that the motoring press will have identified as a high-end toy and potential buyers will have been able to bore their mates down the pub with

It can be dangerous when you expect overboost torque to overtake and get stock boost and the car feels flat, can lead to some closer calls.

i found that it worked here and there and boost fluctuationwas an issue.

i din't like it. maybe when new it worked well not on mine.

then the boost controller came and gave good clean delivery. lot quicker even at 1 bar than the stock chips provided.
