You say that you've checked all the boost hoses, but have you checked all the vacuum lines too? If they are original I'd replace them all as a precaution. The hose you can get from GSF for about £3/m and you only need about 3m.

Where abouts in the UK are you?

I can't remember how the S4 is piped up, but to check them on the S2 I take them off the 3 nipples on the inlet manifold and put pressure down them with a blow gun on the air line, set to about 1bar. Then listen for leaks, don't forget to check inside the car for the lines than run to the ECU and the difflock.

Its funny you say that because i had a car full tonight and i caould swear i could hear a swooshing noise coming from near my feet which coincided with the turbo boost, not loud but there!

Mine is an S6 so no diff lock but there are vacuum lines going into the car through a rubber grommmet.

Not sure if it applies to the s6, but have you tried unplugging the mfts then driving the car to see if it makes any difference

The AAN in the UrS4 and UrS6 cars does not use the MFTS to send a temp signal to the ECU, it only drives the temp gauge, as explained here:

I've just been for a data log thing at c&r enterprises in nottingam, and although nothing obvious n terms of parts came up. The car is running extremely weak!!

Its on its 3rd MAF sensor, new oxy sensor (although a genuine VAG item is comming tomorrow) and last time i checked the fuel pressure was good, altough i'll be checking that again tonight.

Any ideas? As URS4Boy stated, fuel injectors???

Just drove it home - slow as hell with a lovely 4.5 - 5 bar fuel pressure on throttle!
