If you are and you have not got the stud with the cutback thread it is possible you have screwed this in two far stopping the check valve screwing in correct.

It is also possible to crush this valve with the arp stud

It's why the later 034 ARP's have a special cutback one.

Yes I have the ARP studs from 034 with the one that is shorter.

Looking at the AAT block, there is no way this can happen as the mains stud does not come thought the same hole as the one way valve goes in. Must be a 3B / ABY thing only.

I was going to get a pic showing the stud passing into the oil way but forgot, its only a couple of mm but obviously enough to cause the damage shown in the picture.

That picture bring back some bad memories

The "accident" happend with a 2.5 AAF block.

For the later AEL block do we need 2 or 1 check valve. The picture is showing old and new?

Valve goes to the lower sensor isn't it?

I used these 2, and yes, they go in the lower of the 2 holes. Insert the valve with the spring sticking out and then screw the sensor in on top of it.

Sorry to add to this thread so late but the check valve below is NOT TORX. For those who can count, Torx has 6 (six) points, not 12. (Only a factor of 2 out, not bad )

The check valve below uses a triple square bit (which is different than a double hex at the shape of the points).

i read a lot of about it, but i am not clever from it. I have AAT 5 cylinder block. Should be removed, changed or checked?. I read about oil pump failure and there https://www.s2forum.com/forum/techni...l-pump-failure was lot of about long main stud/bolt on no.3 so now i am little confused, what is need to do with this problem on stroker aat engine block

                          Cheers,

                          Thanks

You can use which valve you want, but if you use ARP main studs the one needs to be shorter so it doesn't squish the valve. No problem with normal bolts.
