    Fuel Pump Replacement Options?

I think my fuel pump is on its last legs, it is making very strange noises! I was just wondering what the best value option would be for replacement.

I know Bosch do an 044 motor sport replacement but I was wondering what are my other options?

044 is good, change the filter too

In fact maybe change the filter first and see if the noise goes away

I changed the filter yesterday and it does not seem to have made any difference, what sort of price can the 044 pumps be acquired for? does anyone know a good supplier?

Price is only one factor in going to a 044 Bosch Motorsport Pump. The 044 is 60 mm in diameter, not 43 mm like the OE pump. Therefore, you need a new fuel pump basket (from a V8) and a few other goodies, including a check valve. Doug at MRC did a write-up on this some time ago.

do you have more than stock hp? or up to 300hp? if you dont have more i see no point in using the 044. it makes more noise, and you should not use stock wiring with the 044 or 040.
and the standard 044/040 check valve you should throw in the trash can. it is rubbish.

you need the basket from a 3b. as yours is a 91 its a 3b? the basket is fine for a 044.

you need the 044, the check valve thats in it or if its a second hand 044 it may need one. 25 quid.

cut the basket up the middle, trim the small filter on the basket. just the corner. slide pump in cable tie it up. fit with new strainer.

you need the connector for the end of the fuel line from an rs2.

            jobs a good'n

I have a new one here, already built up with basket, strainer & banjo for Coupe installation. It was reserved for someone else who I have been pursuing to complete the purchase for a while. If that deal hasn't closed by end of the day it is coming up for sale again. Sitting here in a box ready to go.

its about 50 quid for the bits to fit on a pump to get it in there.
