Not even a cam pulley replacement? As they are so weak.. Moving the cam pulley about on the shaft while the belt is still tensioned can't be doing it any good...

If it was my car, I wouldn't tempt fate, I would replace the belt, and have another 60k of happy motoring. Same as if you were replacing the belt as scheduled, I would replace the hall sender as a matter of course.

Clearly it can be done as prescribed, but I wouldn't want it

    Just my opinion.

I reckon they might have done a cambelt recently and got the timing wrong, the RS2 has to be set half a tooth out IIRC. Either that or its slipped.. whichever, it needs checking really carefully.

cambelt has been done recently yes, but the owner has driven it for 3 months since then, and only one week ago he noticed it when driving.

          Hi all,

more live info about the problem:

It pulls perfect up until 4000-max 4300rpm, and then it cut's out. Judders a bit, en the proceeds making revs very very slowly, in a way it doesn't feel very sound.

So for example nailing it in 3rd at 3000rpm it will go off with full boost, and just after 4k it will suddenly stop, judder a bit, and refuse to accelerate any further.

Safetyprogram due to the failing G40 sensor probably then? Cam timing seems impossible, since it goes perfect under 4k, and above it suddenly refuses to do anything.

No higher consumption, runs ultra smooth, perfect start everytime, etc.

has been replaced a couple of months ago, and that should also give a faultcode, no?

Car is in the workshop since yesterday, i'm curious

Coil breaking down as its getting to torque peak...My RS2 did that when the coils were going..try a mates coil pack just swap all 5 from the other car then at least you know, but the real problem comes in finding which one..maybe smelling or tasting the plugs will help...

Or crank/cam pully key broke and now starting to slip. Be careful.

Glad you found the problem..Also had a problem when the cam belt was changed and the original marking were used which were wrong. car boost to 0.6 only.

When coils start to break down its a real problem finding which one it is.
