Replacing the Waste Gate Cap on my Superchipped RS2

My RS2 has been Superchipped by the last owner. Its been a long road to try and find the parts (chips and WG cap) to put it back to factory (also with the idea of MRC'ing it).
Anyway I have factory chips to put in the car and now I have a replacement cap to put on.

I dont know what the replacement cap has come off they, but it does have the same part number of the cap but it is written in a different font. Maybe more importantly the replacement caps nipple is different and when it arrive it had some rubber pipe on it. Do you think this replacement cap will be find to use?

You need to find a real RS2 cap and check the spring perch height inside.

Got an ABY one here, the shoulder of the bolt is exactly 25mm below the mating surface of the cap (thats with the spring perch removed)

I've just measured the older WG cap I have here which is similar to your replacement one with the plain nipple and smaller font, the measurement to the shoulder of the bolt is 28mm, 3mm more than the ABY cap so this will give less boost. I think the ABY one is the same as the RS2 one. You can probably adjust the one you have by heating from the inside with a small flame or heat gun to melt the thread lock and carefully screwing out the centre bolt with pliers. This will avoid removing the cover over the bolt so preserving the stock look. The theadlock should harden again as it cools and lock the bolt in place.
