engine truble..

A friend of mine have some problem with his engine.

The engine blow out oil through the breather.
Does anyone know what may cause this???

And he also have one other problem.
Hes oil pressure is very low he has 1-1,2 bar at idle, and ~3bar over 4000rpm

I tryed to replace the pressure release spring with no bigger diffrence.
I dont know if the oil pump is bad or what may cause this. he is running with mobile 1 5-50 oil.

Hes brother have dismountet the engine once. so i dont know if there is anything wrong whith the lower part of the engine. i know that the top is ok..

Can any one help me with ideas?

Badly worn piston rings maybe. Do a compression test with 'dry' bores and then with 'wet' bores. See what the difference is.

i did a comp test with a cold and warm engine, it was ok.

try it engine warm but with a bit of oil poured into the bore. See if that makes the comp. higher.

nearly the same comp if i dont did a mistake. hes broter replaced the pistonrings for about 4 months. dont know if its posible that he has fited the piston rings wrong?

He also had 5bar of oil pressure when engine was cold befor now he only have 3bar.

i am out of ideas. I dont want to tear the engine apart with out knowing whats wrong.

Either the oil pump is failing or it may be due to excessive wear in the main/big end bearing shells. Were these replaced?

nope they was not replaced.

maybe pressure as dropped due to the wear in the bearings? Its hard to know without seeing the car. Are all the breather hoses clear? Eg no blockages in the hoses?

If one or more of the oil squirters (under the pistons) had worked loose the pressure would drop too.
