  • crank vr sensor resistance

anyone know how many ohms I should see on testing a brand new crank vr sensor?

Im getting 1000ohms on the one I can only assume has been there since day 1.

980ohm is spec, but can vary a bit between sensors. 1000ohms is well inside limits.

edit: remembered wrong, spec is 'approx 1000ohm' checked from ELSA

All quattro products have been dermatologically tested, and are safe for daily use.

i want to know what a brand new one will show.
Its never given trouble on motronic, Im running vems now which has shown to be a bit more picky over vr signal strength above noise. Im only getting 9.5-9.8millivolts when cranking. After modifing the bracket.

I was getting 5.5-6 before and wouldnt get a spark at all so it may well only just be enough.

It runs pretty good for now but it stumbles every now and again at idle. If fitting a new sensor could raise this by any amount it might help.

I've read on megasquirt forums that 20mV is enough to rule out vr trigger issues.

The closer i can get to that without modding the pin or welding the flywheel the happier i'll be.

did you swap crank 2nd vr polarity for vems?
