I'm afraid it is! Maybe you can pick up a second hand one somewhere?

Surely a decent engineering place could fix it by making pattern parts. It does come apart doesn't it?

        Ty-rap it!!!

Seriously, the best sensible solution would be to make a steel copy of the nipple seat, remove the zinc plating from the tang area of the lever, and weld the two pieces together.

The really nice solution would be to mill the whole piece from new material - but that would be a tad expensive. I have thought about it, what with access to cnc milling machines and very competent machine shop staff...

        Ty-rap it and smile!

I think i will ty-rap it for now......the wealding seems sensible...even if the cabled snapped later in the future (god forrbid) i would be able to dremil it off.
          Oh well we will see
will post pics if anything i try works.....

I would just search a second hand one and that's it. I think the valve itself is the same in 3b and aby but the whole includes the potentiometer and such that you don't need to replace. I think that if you place a "wanted"-message you'll probably find one. Suitable second hand price 50-100e in my opinion if the potentiometer is not included. And this is for the whole throttle body+internals.

Would love to get hold of some diags like that. Im starting to work out what stuff is called on an s2 engine but there are still a lot of gaps.

              Cheers

Don't shoot me but why not get one from a Metro Carb? It is made of metal and looks as though it should bolt on......

Better than being off the road.

Mind you, try finding a metro these days!

Exactly the same thing happened to me about three years ago, I went to see Mr Audi parts man and he said that I needed a whole new throttle body for a lot of money. So I went to B&Q and bought a piece of ally and some small machine screws and made this. Not pretty but it works.

                  Mark.

P.S. mine broke while racing too.
