  • Psshiiit ! when opening fuel tank

    Hello Guys !

    Nedd your help for this
When i open my tank for fuel refill, I hear a PSSHIIITT like coke can

I can't find the truth about this : some says it's normal other says problem

I ve found schematics about fueltank but I don't know how it would work, is there a kind of "open air" things to avoid pressure in tank ?

    hope someone can explain

mine doesn't do that and never has....got to be a blocked breather pipe.

mine has from day one (10yrs ownership)...again not sure if a problem or 'feature' of the car

Certainly doesn't appear to affect anything to do with mechanical operation of the car or fuel circuit, pressure regulator and pump are original etc...

      Cheers

          1 vs 1 again
I'm quite worried about tank damage due to pressure inside

Vacuum or pressure building in the tank cannot be a good thing... The tank is supposed to breathe - it should vent any fumes via the carbon canister and EVAP solenoid.

mine has always done this, nothing has changed since i binned the EVAP line and now vent direct to atmosphere under the rear bumper Dunno if the breather tank thing and rollover protection valve are jammed shut or somthing?

why? If everything works as it should I won't be looking for a 'solution' My cabby does it aswell.
