            i am pretty sure that it is definately the ecu, tonight i disconnected all components and various relays and still popping the fuse, so not sure if its the best approach but i earthed pins 10, 14, 19 & 24 directly into the ecu which appear to be the main ecu earths (with the ecu unplugged) and put a fused feed into pin 18 (main feed)to simulate away from the car loom and i still get the same fault with the 5 amp fuse blowing.

            i am up for sending mine to see if it can be fixed but am willing to look on here for another ecu to try for now as long as its inter changable ie no immobilser issues wiith coding etc,
            i'm sure i saw one for sale on here from an aan

            I don't fully understand the inner workings of the immo, but if you get the ecu from a car that doesn't have an immo my understanding is that you can just plug it in and fire up the beast without causing issues.

                Im near Aylesbury, if you dont find anyone local with an ecu to try, i dont mind coming over, you can try mine. (non immo but will work on your car)

                    awesome that would be great, i will have a hunt around see whats for sale, but i might just hold you to that, obviously i'll cover your expenses etc

                            waiting for a reply for one in the for sale section.

                            just really hope thats all the prob is , the last thing i want to do is shell out a load of cash to be no further forward
