when you say top hose do you mean the large one or the small one that goes to the bottleLeave a comment:

If you want to test the pump just take the top hose off the radiator and rev the engine ,it should pump the water out quite well ,if not is is no good . You can catch the coolant in a bucket so you can put it back in .Leave a comment:

what is the right way
Ive fitted it with the open side toward the engineLeave a comment:

Is the thermostat fitted correctly? It fits both ways, one way allows water to pass and the other destroys your engine...Leave a comment:

just to chage the entire pump....
hmmmm alot off work and coolant loss

I`m going to whip the water pump off tomorrow I presume its on the timing gear
Is there a upgrade for the water pump doing away with the plastic impellers maybe replacing with alloy?Leave a comment:

Is a big chance that you have the plastic water pump....remove the termostat...make another test....iff is the same..then the radiator fins are blocked or the pump is gone.

Water pump and thermostat
Ive spent the day changing the thermostat it opened at close at boiling point, but was ment to open at 86*c.
So I was confident I`ve fixed the car only to fire up and find that it still runs hot I wonder if the water pump is working correctly if at all?
The bottom hose from the thermostat is cold as well even though the bottle is steaming hot the guage is saying 100 but the pipe is cold it has collant in it and is bleed.
on the bottle should I see coolant being pumped in at the top?Tags: None
