I am sorry, I made a typo earlier, that engine was NOT with 7a cams. And yes, it was more then 10K build.3500rpm and 2bar from a super40? with what hotside and which gear was the pull made?
it was statements like these that made me try the super40 and then realise that you either need to invest 10K euros on engine parts to make the turbo have such small amount of lag, OR it is just not possible.
I tried to look for logs, but I didn't find any, I have made some silly names to the files apparently, and it is pretty hard to recognize them from each other, especially when You have thousands of logs on Your computer...Everything less than 2 bar is considered to be naturally aspiratedComment

excactly my point.
So once again, in order to say lag and spool and rpm that you get the highest boost at, it is not worth discussing only turbos, its also worth discussing on which setup this was done. Otherwise different impressions are madeComment

I would love to see the boost profile, and the power/torque produced by such an odd combination. What cams?I am sorry, I made a typo earlier, that engine was NOT with 7a cams. And yes, it was more then 10K build.

Dyno plot.
I do not have the boost profile.
Boost is always late on this dyno, so dyno boost profile would be useless.Attached FilesEverything less than 2 bar is considered to be naturally aspiratedComment

Wheel or calculated crank hp based off drivetrain loss/roll down on the dyno. What dyno is it? Load based? Doesn't matter much, as they are just profiles. Interesting though. You think this motor/tune is seeing 2bar at 3500?1981 URQuattro with the TIAL GT35r.

is the gear of the pull 4th or 5th?
i would dangerously assume that if this turbo was seeing 2bar from 3500rpm, it seems weird to only have about 300Nm of torque. Judging from numerous logs i have done with 3 different turbos on my engine, i would say that the full boost (at least on the dyno), comes somewhat at 4000rpm where the torque curve starts to become steep. That i would believe, in which case it is not far off from my experience with the HXSuper40, which gave me 1.8bar @ 4200rpm on 4th gear. (1.8 was limited by me, as i didnt bother trying 2bar with that turbo).Comment

Bonehead? My friend, you have mistyped a handful of posts on this thread alone.
It is hard to understand this setup of yours after 5 pages of thread. I speak several languages and have spent several years in other countries and understand the barriers associated with wording, but I try not to call others "boneheads" when I fail to communicate effectively.
I have been on plenty of dyno's too. They make boost "later" than on the road, but not 1000rpm+ later as this dyno is indicating. Also I have never seen 3b/aan/aby turbo cams make power above 7000 like this plot does. That is why I asked further about hte setup above. I wanted to know what dyno, if it was load based, if this is calculated WHP/WTQ and if you think this motor/tune is making 2 bar at 3500 on the street. I don't think so, but I am curious if you do. I have been wronge plenty of times in life, this year, and even this week. Perhaps I am just up in the night again.Last edited by URQguy; 7 December 2010, 16:43.1981 URQuattro with the TIAL GT35r.
