Had both wheels of my bike trailer do that, started screaching after flat out run down the M4, drove about another 30 miles in the dark though Wales before giving up and calling the RAC. When he delivered the bike and trailer to the detination and I unloaded the trailer I was able to just take both wheels off, the only thing holding them there was the grooves where the balls were supposed to be resting in each other

            Oh yeah, fuggy lugger

                    Very lucky with that.

What mileage has it done, and is it its first cambelt?

We've had a few 'lucky' cars / customers when we have stripped them down to find something very similar. (and plenty not so lucky!)
