    Fuel Pressure Regulators

Quick question for you chaps in the know about this stuff.

Is a 7A FPR the same pressure as an RS2 FPR? or if not can I get one that is the same as a 7A but fits in the ABY/AAN Fuel rail?

I'm sure I've read what fuel pressure all the different FPRs give but I haven't got a head that holds onto numbers ...

My 3B is mapped with a 7A FPR and I want to change to an AAN fuel rail

    Thanks

From what I've read here about FPRs:

    ABY/AAN is 4.0 bar
    ADU is 3.8 bar
    7A is 4.0 bar
    3B is 3.0 bar.

I'm pretty sure there is a 4 bar FPR available for the ABY/ANN/ADU fuel rail. I've seen them in my friend's BMW workshop for a start.

Sorry, you are wrong about the ABY/AAN FPR, they are 4.0 Bar not 3.0 Bar. I think the RS2 FPR is 3.8 bar as you state but know nothing about 7A (except the PN is 054133534 and it is unique to the 7A). I think the 3B FPR is 3.0 Bar.

You're right. I've just checked my AAN FPR and it's 4.0 bar. So we have a winner.

Sometimes it takes posting a wrong answer to trigger a correct one. I'll correct my post.

            Fuel Pressure Regulator PNs

The 20v fuel pressure regulators are quite unique to their respective applications:

            7A, 20V NA = PN 054133534
            3B, 20VT = PN 034133534M
            AAN, 20VT = PN 078133534C
ABY, 20VT = PN 078133534C (same as AAN)
            RS2, 20VT = PN 034133534P

            Hope that helps.

I've also edited my post to include the 3B. Now I'm off to see if I can raid a 1.8T for a 3.0 bar FPR for my AAN rail.

Sorry Newsh, i missed this one. I was in Surrey yesterday too. I actually may need mine at some point, but not right now. I could see if I can find another one.

7A FPR is 4.2 BAR and you can drop-in fit that FPR on a 3B engine (remapping needed obviously).
I recall Audi V8 having a 3.8 bar FPR - not sure how it all looks physically though.

So going from 7A to ABY FPR I'll be running lean and need a remap, BoIIox. Oh well, I'm changing to Wagner manifolds and removing a coulpe of metres of inlet tract anyway so..

I've got a 4Bar one on the way from Hoffer so I'll take it from there unless there's a 4.2Bar one available from another vehicle, or I can mod the 4Bar one in some way. I seem to remember you can tweek an FPR up a bit by squeezing in a vice?

You don't need a full remap, only adjust a single value in the chip

John ,why you want to use AAN/ABY fuel rail over the 3B one??

                              3B FPR= 3.2bar
                              7A = 4.2Bar

i have meassured them with a gauge and all works normally at 2 or 2.5bar( i dont remember it correctly) but the differences are only with WOT
