just removed the alarm, car runs but constant exclamation mark flashing ??

As in title, removed the alarm, put all back together, runs beautifully, when i started it i got the flashing exclamation mark and beeps, then all the way home 20 ish miles constant flashing exclamation mark, the oil pressure and temp fine, coolant level fine, brake fluid level fine, only thing adrift was the voltage guage, i think the regulator i think is playing up, the lights pulsate with the guage flickering around 14v

Any ideas whats causing the exclamation mark flashing, also am i going to damage anything with the volts up around 14v?

Hi chap i,m pleased to see you got the alarm off the car .The exclamation symbol is brake system and power steering fluild. The instruction manual gives you a small amount of info but i would put money on it being a bad connection on a sender. Hope this helps.

Dont know really, I get some really weird warnings if the 2 temp sensors on the ur are reversed..

Just wondering if the centre console gauges were connected correctly, as the voltage is reading strange maybe the ground is not connected or a wire is swapped over, can't remember how they connect..

Of course its possible the regulator is going home.. Also check the wires to the starter motor and alternator are not loose or rubbing on anything.

Was thinking about those loose wires for the stereo speakers (the ones I was saying should be in that red connector) I think I'm wrong and they should actually have a small (8 pin?) plug and socket which is missing. Have a look in the avant when you get a chance.

Yes thats true, its the power steering fluid as well as the brake fluid, a bad bomb can cause the beep. Also check the connections on the back of the clocks are good and the plugs are all home and no pins bent.
