I see a lot of pictures around this forum of people that got installed custom fuelrails, I fitted mine from 034, and wanted to see how your home made brackets look,or did you use something from another car that fitted?
Horrible cellphone pic, but you get the idea. Carved out to pieces of alumimum from an Audi A6 bumper I had lying around, rolled them over a socket with the same diameter as the rail, bent out a flat area and drilled a hole for the hex screw. Sturdy as hell and raceproven for three years and boost tested to 3 bar
Welded X2 10mmx6mm tabs to the manifold at the rough height of the injectors then using a mill i linned the injectors up at each end and then machined down at the correct angle to make sure the injector sat exactly where the nozzle meets the hole to the head. The problem with just welding some metrial on then bolting the rail down is the injectors will simply not line up
i do mine with some aluminum plate i have that has been broke (bent) at a shop, just some scrap i have laying around. i use the same fuel rails all the time. just set the injectors in the rail, and in the manifold. clamp the brackets to the rail, weld them on. hope i havent put up too many pictures
Does the 034 unit come without tabs? I got mine from EFIExpress. I'm pretty sure they are very similar, but mine just bolted onto the stock provisions. I can get you a pic if you need it. They are just 90 tabs coming off the side though.
