    EGT values

    hello friends

this saturday i was installing a EGT sensor, bought in Germany

and i was testing it around the weekend for 200kms in the motorways.

the instrucions are in German language and i think that it is perfectly installed

firstly i thought that i had something bad because i am reading temperatures like 1200º cruising at 120km/h in 5th gear with -0.4bar bar... and 1480º 2.0bar boost 5500rpm in 5th gear....

sincerely i was VERY VERY SCARED¡¡ but after this i am thinking now that these numbers are in "english extrange temps"

i have to look in the german instruccions to see how i can change the Fº to Cº.... because my numbers are impossible in Cº ...the turbo should be broken months ago¡¡

i have to say that the EGT sensor was installed in the higher part of the downpipe, just by the turbo hotside

what do you think about 1480Fº with 2.0bar and 11.8AFR by 5500rpm ??? it is dangerous?? or are them OK ?

the exhaust manifold is the Wagner RS2 EVO ,the turbo is k24 7200 and the downpipe is 3" ....

yes?? always i heard that the best way is fitting it in the turbo hotside or in the exhaust manifold true??

i would like to share this info with the people with more experiences with EGT sensors for compare¡

and of course with all of us

i am getting something like 710C on cruise on 120km on 5th or 6th(minor difference) and at 5500rpm on 2bar on my turbo something about 870-880C. My sensor is on the EM collector so i believe the differences are pretty much ok for what you see.

You definitelly have the F instead of C plotted there and i should think that there should be a way to switch to C instead.

Out of interest Rocco... What turbo and injector are you running on that setup ?
2bar is a lot of boost and EGT and AFR sure need to be carefully monitored.

2 bar on RS2 turbo is too much.
There will be more power by lowering the boost level and advancing the timing.
