V6 crank bolt size??

Hey there folks, stupid question number 1, does anybody on here know the size of the socket needed to remove/replace the crankshaft sprocket bolt (not pulley) on a 2.8 V6 AAH. It's a 12 point multi splined bolt. It's slightly bigger than a 24mm HEX socket (which I won't use but was used as a guide for the right size) but there is a slight movement with a 25mm 12 point socket.

I can't tell wether a 24mm 12 point would fit but don't really want to waste another journey into town getting the wrong socket size....again. Or am I wrong and that the size I need is imperial not metric....

If anyone can help that would be great!

Pretty sure it is 24mm 12point from memory.

BTW - you will not find one imperial fitting on Das Audi !

Well your memory is good on the 12 point part (and I assume the 24 mm). My friend, Kate, isn't that helpful. All she tells me is the 078105229D "screw" is a 12 point socket head, M18x1.5x85
