S2 Avant boost problems

hello partners, i have a spanish friend who has a S2 Avant ABY with RS2 IC,RS2 turbo,034 MS replica RS2 injectors, cheap replica RS2 Exhaust manifold,Super sprint 70mm dwonpipe....and a tuned ECU by Paul nugent (S2Central.net here)

two years ago he was using the car and the boost were 1.7 or 1.8bar,and now after changed the 90% of the engine sensors he has only 1.6bar (sometimes)others only 1.5bar and some others 1.3bar¡¡

he says that the engine is runing better than ever...but cant charge the older boost levels.

any suggestions for him?? i said him that it could be a wastegate failure.... or some small boost leak...

What about mechanical timing ?

What about air leaks ?

Any strange noises from turbo ?

Any restrictions in the airbox ?

he could also check intake air temperature sensor, wather sensor (on engine head) and knock sensors. If they are bad they could give wrong informations to ECU and it will reduce boost level ......

Those things should be checked with VAG-COM.
Because if the readings are correct in VAG-COM and there are no codes, then ECU won't be reducing boost.

If the car was running fine before, I doubt the knock sensors are overtorqued as well.
But it's possible something is loose in the engine bay and banging against the block for example, causing the knock sensors to register phantom knock.
Had that happen to a car once...

i had similiar symptoms. first it was boosting 1.5 then 1.3... 1.1 ...0.9 ...0.7 so i took a look in the turbo... and found this sight

Hello guys. My english is very bad; excuse me.

At first the Vagcom sais some things: hall, lambda, máximun engine speed (in the past I asked you about that) ...
Because that I change the Knock sensors (one was broken), lambda sonde and the 2 down sensors (rpm and possition sensors).

The car was better but only better. And some months later I changed 4 pins watter sensor (it's was broken too, the "clock" was always down and up), oil temp and press sensor (the same, temp sensor always was low) and the IM air temp sensor (because...)

The car pull ok but the bost...
Just, at the moment I remember when this past summer I go to Valencia with 45ºC on the street and the car's watter around 95ºC AND THIS WEEKEND THE TURBO PULLS AROUND 1,8BAR!!!!!
And I change the last sensor, the water sensor who is on the rear part of the engine, around all conectors. One white with two pins.


PS: 4 years ago I changed the throttle body sensor, N75, WG diaphram, Hall ...

2PS: one year ago or less I bought one used Altitude sensor from one S2Forum member (my sensor indicate always too low ambient pressure)
