brand new oil cap blating out oil. . .

    hello all. .

my old oil cap was leakin oil all over my engine bay so obviously ive bought another but the problem still persists, i was wondering if thier was a oil cap with a higher pressure rating or if thier is a way someone has found out so its more secure and cant leak no more, cos this is annoying 2litres of 10-60 oil in 2 days just going to the floor :-(

    thanks in advance reilly!

What exactly have you replaced? have you cleaned out the breather pipes and cleaned the firetrap and replaced the PCV valve?

Sounds like a blocked breather hose or like the breather system is getting pressurised by boost pressure - Perhaps the 1-way valve has stopped working? That's at the rear of the engine, under the IM.

Have you changed anything else, or is it all stock?

                  but

most recently ive had a new head gasket, new k24 hybrid quick spool turbo fitted, new breathers, 10-60 oil and oil filter and my car smokes on the over run mainly and if its left a few mins on idle it builds up if this give you any further clues

10w60 oil is too thick you should be using 5w40 or 10w50 also get rid of those spark plugs

The audi plugs are the best for car so much so RS4 owners use them as an upgrade on their cars!

im trialing 10-60 as ive read rs2's run it and i thought maybe with the hybrid turbo on mine it would need it maybe, i started with 5-40 which i thought made my car smoke but it seems to be this breather system ive over looked, so i may swap back to the 5-40 cos this 10-60 aint cheap ha ha i was looking for 10-50 oil but i could not find it when i needed it :-)

Sound like you have leaking valve seals if oil is pulled into the engine under vacuum (e.g. throttle off after giving it stick).

As for the oil blatting out, you are pressurizing the cam cover because the PCV valve and maybe the pressure regulating valve are Fubar'd. As a result, the orange arrow'd flow isn't flowing and pressure is back-flowing into the cam cover via the pink arrow'd pathway (only in reverse in your case). More info under diagram.

Have a read on this (it is for an AAN but the pieces and their function are the same for the ABY and ADU):

thanks alot for all your help guys...

ive taken it all to bits tonight and ive cleaned it all out, i even pulled the flame trap out cleaned it and put it back together again, so far ive not noticed any more oil out of the filler cap which ill be keepin an eye on and instantly ive got no smoke coming from the exhaust so im a very happy chappy,

ever since i bought the car ive been fighting this issue and now its been resloved. ive changed all sorts, i even think the previous owner sold it cos of this and all it needed was new valve stem oil seals and a new pcv and breather lines cleaned out, they were full of crap but at least i feel ive full restored a audi s2 so im proud

now all i need is a good chip to compliment the k24 hybrid turbo and so i can put in my 2bar wastegate spring and get a lovely exhaust on

these cars are such a pleasure to drive when your not worrying about the smoke trail your leaving behind :-D

thank you all in this thread once again, for your quick and accurate help!!!!
