If the car is standard ish you cant beat a Homefry IMO. As for wanting to go stand alone etc thats where my knowledge runs out.
chipping and what does the chip control??

Running a stand alone system on a standard-ish car is a waste of money/overkill, even if there are long term plans to go for more (with an unrated turbo and injectors). Homefry chips (or the like) are very cost effective and could be sold on when and if the "planned" upgrade actually materializes.RS2'd 93 UrS4 5 spd sedan

whats this "PnP VEMS" about??
i rang them today they seemed certain it would work, i got quoted. . .
engine managment
map sensor
postage+packaging
insurance
for
£813 inc v.a.t
ill ask further questions, i was lead to emerald cos the omex is abit more basic than thiers, but i am lookin down teh stand alone route ;-)Comment

It's means it plugs straight into the stock motronics connector in the car, there is one pin swap on a connector that is required or you can buy and adapter.
If you want VEMS my advice is buy it from A4kquattro or Pnanassy on the forum as you will get 100% better support than buying it direct.Comment

i just dont want to keep buyin chips for nothing if you get me
but for now ill lookin into all angle of remaps
what has worked best for you guys???Comment

Your problem is the K24 hybrid, as that really requires custom tuning. If you had a K24 then the homefry generic map would have been the ideal starting point.
Did you buy the hybrid from Hoffer? I think he has hybrid chips for the turbo he sells not sure but again depends on your future plans is it worth going through this for a K24 hybrid and 300 bhp?Comment

emerald management comes all labeled up on the wiring, so i guess its a chops solder and fit, just find your wires from your ecu and marry it up, they made to sound like a piece of cake,It's means it plugs straight into the stock motronics connector in the car, there is one pin swap on a connector that is required or you can buy and adapter.

my mates 205 t16 was easy to install he just struggled with the original map, as more people round here program omex and not emerald, emerald seems more common in southern ukComment

i bought it off a.e.t turbos and its 330bhp rated, no dyno run yet as i can feel the car hit a flat spot at 5000rpm so it needs mapping one way or another fast cos its just using juice doing nothing lolComment

No Mihnea real time maps the car on the dyno or on the road, despite what has been said in a few threads I don't think anyone else has mapped as many high power cars.
Speak to Doug and if you want a scare look at his 600+ car
Beware the quirky humour however
There are alternatives, Automark is thought highly off up north I can't comment here because I don't agree with their mapping methods
All real time map, which is what you need, spending a day getting your car mapped to your setupComment

ill give them a call tommorow and pick another one brain lol
its jst if i keep on tuning il may want another chip down teh line so your lookin at a £1000 worth of chips lol were as this engine management would be £813 all in for life no matter what mods got put on the car and i could also set a ecconomy setting and a max setting then have a middle setting to play with myself :-)
too many options and loads of travel required to get it sorted lol thats the worst bit,
i feel more under pressure cos id love it mapped intime for easter weekend (24th/25th april)at york drag strip to see how its running and time ticking away is making ti a tall orderComment
