    Please help! Somethings gone wrong!

    Right guys,
I have read through some threads and getting confussed with all the info.

Today, I was driving my s2 from work, everything seemed fine as I rolled along the dual carrage way at around 80. When I pulled up at a garage I noticed that there was blue smoke coming out of the exhaust I checked dip stick and it was low so topped it up enough to get me home.

The gauges looked fine to me, temp was okay and pressure wasnt bad

I think that the turbo couldve let go or something as I had noticed that there was a bit of oil in the intercooler pipework the other day.

Im new to turbos and the s2 so any advice anyone has for me it would be great.
Is there a step by step procedure to check through.

Started it up this morning after letting it cool over night and a big blue cloud came out the exhaust stinking of burnt oil. After running it for a few minuets it has stopped but still smells slightly. Made sure the oil was full and took it around the block, noticed smoking a few times.

Im gonna take a look at the turbo this afternoon/weekend to see if thats the problem.
Anyone got any pointers to look out for?

Aye, sounds like a tubo. It's a reasonable sized job but there are plenty of good secondhand turbos around, if you don't want a recon one. Might be a good excuse to get a little upgrade

Rusty, Cheers for that! I am currently looking into a possible upgrade. As Im new to all this Im a bit out of my depth. There is a turbo for sale here

but not sure if it would fit my 3b.

Any suggestions? Im a bit of a budget so dont want to start changing internals et.

Speak to Hoffer76, he should be able to help with something fairly standard looking (I have one of his K24 7000 based turbos waiting to go on), otherwise, you're looking at spending lots of £, changing a lot of stuff and going very fast as a result I can't think of many other modest upgrades at the mo, the tried and tested one is a full RS2 setup but then you get into the debate about the 3B distributor and whether it's suitable for higher power...

Unless you want to start spending £££, stick with parts that are as close to stock as possible.
