Hello everyone
I still have my 2.8CQ, it is 2 years now since the gearbox failed but i can not bear to let the car go for scrap or be stripped bare. working now for johnson controls company car (zafira-
)
So.
Finally got a new 12V, but still have the car-no-start problem. mine is MY95, and has the dealer fitted dongle plug-in immo along the steering column.
the car will not turn over on the key, though i am sure the ign immo (key one ) is ok, as the dash light goes off. i get all the fuel pump whirring noises.
(if i remember) the procedure is:1) ign on..(beep), .2) put in (take out) immo dongle...(.more beeps), 3) turn key and
car starts.
now, when i '2' put in the dongle, i am not getting any further beeps
, and nothing happens to turn over the car.
i just want to start my car!

i live very close to http://www.specialisedengines.co.uk/index.htm and have had a chat with a guy there the other month. Maybe they could do the gearbox for me, but obviously, i need to get the car started. i talked about the immo problem with this guy, but so far thats as far as it got, he hasn't had a look yet.
can i fix it myself?
thanks in advance. also, if anyone knows somewhere else i could trust to do my gearbox, would be grateful.
all the best
Phil
