Anyone happen to know the size of fuel line fitting where the hardlines feed hose meets the flexible pipe at the bulkhead ?

Nice one... that price is rather higher than it needs to be... I'll see if I can locate something cheaper.
Looking to see if I can find a nice clean / easy & safe way to add a fuel pressure gauge into the feed pipe that can use a mechanical or electrical method.
Mechanical gauges need to stay in the engine bay for obvious reasons... But electrical ones can integrate with logging products such as zeitronix.
This means the T-adapter needs a male M14x1.5 on one end, female at the other with a 1/8 NPT female thread that a gauge or sensor can be fitted.
Hopefully its a common VW / Audi size that the aftermarket suppliers should have something for.Paul Nugent

I was searching around for a while and could not find anything which was a direct fit, it should be a pretty easy thing to set up. I ended up using a double banjo bolt on the fuel rail but i would not like to drive with it there.

I did something similar, I welded a 1,8" npt bung onto the banjo bolt and then I installed the Zeitronix sensor into the bung.
However this will be a bit more tricky on the ABY/ADU I guess.

The location where solid fuel feed pipe meets the flexi section into fuel rail on ABY/ADU is a perfect candidate. I'll have a hunt around for standard adapters and report any nice finds.Paul Nugent

So it looks like there is a good range of take-off adapters on JIC-6 fitment, but I need some kind of adapter for the M14 x 1.5 inverted flare end. Its a world of pain with all those weird and wacky connector & thread standards... JIC, NPT, BSP, SAE blah blah but the attached doc helps.
Might yet get lucky with something that bolts straight in - 034 obviously found one, but I aint paying that !Attached FilesPaul Nugent

This is another good chart of sizes etc...
Still cannot find anything off the shelf and I am not even sure we have M14x1.5 thread on the feed pipe on ABY... A quick measurement with calipers on the outside of the coupling where it threads onto the flexihose is only about 10.5mm... I'll have to gather up some bits to verify dimensions.
There seem to be a good range of DIN to JIC adapters that would theoretically let us go from M14x1.5 into JIC-6 where we can attach the fuel pressure gauge and go through a JIC-6 to M14x1.5. Thats kind of bulky though for a permanent install but I am unclear if the metric ends of those adapters work with the inverted flare.
Its an 8mm OD on the feed hose... wondering if I would be brave enough to cut off the inverted flare termination and go with AN/JIC-6 termination and save one adapter.
Why is it the apparently simple things take longer to search out ?Paul Nugent

It arrived yesterday and plain looks too big. See how 034 cost me money when I dont even shop with them - LOL.
Must be that the AAN motors have an M14 x 1.5 thread on the feed line but the ABY (and ADU presumably) does not. Also this fitting doesnt like it has the right shaped ends to match the inverted flare termination.
I will hopefully find time today to open the line and get a better handle on measurement... hopefully I have some M10 or M12 threads around to carefully try out... then I will have better data for a search with specialist suppliers.
Photo attached shows where the hardlines meet the flexi lines... The large one nearest the bulkhead is return as far as I can make out as it connects to the underside of the regulator.
As I type this I am beginning to doubt myself - heheh - will have to double check later.Attached FilesPaul Nugent

So - some good news and bad news following a quick test fit here.
The M14 x 1.5 thread is actually correct for the feed joint - I was thrown off by the narrow collar until I opened the joint. See pic.
Unfortunately - the topology of this joint from Merlin isnt going to work here as the flared connection needs to clamp down hard before the T onto the gauge - otherwise it is impossible to seal correctly. The threads of the gauge would actually damage the solid pipe if clamped down fully. Likewise the other end needs to look like an inverted flare pipe so it can seal on the flexi pipe.
I loosely connected it though to get the idea in the 2nd pic... care is also needed so that the T faces the right way to attach the gauge.
That is a glycerin filled gauge and apparently you aren't supposed to keep them attached permanently so a 1/8" NPT blank plug will be required too.
I'll have to draw something up that I can share with specialist suppliers to hopefully find something off the shelf.Paul Nugent

Paul,
Exactly what I'm after for my UR ABY.
When you get 5 mins, could you PM me details of suppliers and costs please.
Thanks
