    Sump buffles

Hi there, is there any ready to buy sump buffles. I have noticed that during hard left cornering the oil pressure drops suddenly to about 2 bar just for a moment. I am thinking that this is not the best for the engine since the revs are high during this.

I suppose it is like this because of the oil pan design with the provision for the oil return of the turbo.

Havn't heard anything strange. Propably the oil damps down the sound.

when you say hard left cornering, do you mean while on boost as well? or any hard left cornering?

could that also be related to the larger oil feed to the turbo?

Fitting sump baffles is probably be the best modification you could ever do to your car short of dry sumping anyway.

reason i ask is that my engine is in bits, and if there is a simple solution, by welding a few extra baffles to reduce the problem it would be ideal to ask for. Otherwise, i must say, with my type of driving, and the engine having run 230K kms without them, all parts show no oil starvation issues, so i cannot be 100% convinced that they would make a serious difference for me.

If i tracked the car, perhaps its a must. It seems im not even THAT spirited driver! haha

I personally did it to stop the oil being ejected out of the crankcase whenever i did full throttle launches, this would then cause a top end rattle through oil starvation.

If you dont get any drops in oil pressure and your oil control is ok then i suppose you wont see any benefits.

                              ah i see.
good point, to be honest i have never observed my oil pressure gauge on hard left turn...,and since i dont do hard launches, other than very rarely 2nd gear and mostly 3d and above, i would suppose it may not be that important to me
