If you use full boost and max rpm's on a 400-600hp engine and your oilpressure drops to zero for a second it's propably "bye bye then".

Yes, of course. Oil pressure drop is not good at any time. But on a high power engine at full load the bearing are gone stright away. Havn't experienced it my self but it's what I have heard.

Those rubber flaps are hard to find. I'll tried to find some... Cosworth made them, but seems they don't sell them separate. BMW M3(e30) has them as stock in the oil pan, part number 11131309428 item 8 in the pic http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...72&hg=11&fg=10 but they are quite expensive, 14 euro each and you need maybe 6-8 of them. Thats why I did steelflaps at 0 costs.

If you have an oil pan in your hands, put couple litres of water in it and tilt it side to side and front to back, it gives you some ideas what's happening in there while driving. 45° tilting equals to 1G acceleration, I think. Stock I5 oil pans are not so bad, running out of oil in general from the pan could be bigger problem than controlling the oils movement in there.Comment
