    BKR7EIX / BKR8EIX should run ok with 1.5b of boost in I5 motors ? (3B/aby)
what kind of gap would you recommend ?

gotta say guys i tried about 4 or 5 types of plug ranging from 1.50 bkr7e a common 16vt plug to denso race (i think) IK24 and found like many the stock plug is fine and id say overall the best. the bkr7e just wouldn't perform well for me. maybe a gap issue. the denso were great on full tilt but just not at it for cruise or low rpm. they needed heat.

my personal view is its down not to plug as the stok item is great but coil strength and the charge applied to the coil by the ecu. in the old days we used to just "knock the gap in" a bit on higher boost. realy what this is doing for me is compensating for lasck of coil strength. vems proved this for me as once at say 1.7 bar or so i started to get a few misfires. adding some charge to them coils cured this.

hello by the way. im not about much now.

I ran f5dpor plugs in my vauxhall turbo engine with 400bhp no problems for over 3 years. Then when I bought the urs4 it was the only plugs I used without a issue. Never had a misfire or fault due to this plug.

I was thinking that when running ~2.5bar with pump gas and meth injection, then i'll switch to BKR9EIX, because the EGT should be with this combo higher than with E85, but we will see how it goes.
2.8bar is quite a bit of boost.. what setup are you running?

My original gearbox failed. So it was easier to look for a diesel 01E gearbox, because they are alomost allways in better condition than original S-series gearbox's. It's hard to find almost 20 years old good condition gearbox, because all the previous owners of this gearbox have tryed hard launch's and high rpm shifts.
Diesel owners dont to that luckly.
All diesel gearboxis have wide and flexible 1st gear. Its should be stronger also. Here is a lot of info regarding 01E gearbox's. http://www.elektro.com/~audi/01E/
First three gear ratios are the same as UrS4/S6. 4th is little longer and 5th is longer than usually 6th gear of the typish gearbox. When cuising with 100kmh with 5th the rpm is about 2200-2300 and 6th 1800-1900 rpms.

                  Sorry for the offtopic.

I am digging up this old thread. I know that it has been discussed quite a bit,
but considering the F5DPORs are expensive and very difficult to find, I was recommended today by KRIENG that BKR8EIX is a replacement. Less expensive and much easier to find.
The F5DPORs have now are getting on a bit and I had a weird misfire yesterday.
The coils are good and the wires are one year old Magnecors.
I have never changed the plugs. They must have over 50k kms on them.

It was recommended that they are regapped though. I am running chipped boost level, 2.4b absolute.

I'm running CHAMPION QC59C and I have no issue even on 2.1bar of boost so i really favor those. However in your case they might be a bit colder so take NGK BCR8ES or BKR8EIX!

                      Avoid F5DPOR for sure!
