I just added a bit more fuel up top, so everything is fine, it does not affect anything, all of these pumps (OEM RS2) behave exactly the same.

If you were running more boost, you would have to upgrade the fuel pump though, as it would not be safe.
What hp/Nm levels do you reckon is possible on this turbo with an 044 pump and Wagner exh manifold, and mapping for sportive driving, but no trackdays?

The correct FW power is the easy one to compare everything to.

The quoted wheel power is not corrected.

The losses number is at the peak power - which is 60-70ps whereas peak losses are 85ps ish at 7300rpm

I can understand why you take the wheel power with a pinch of salt but it is consistant over every car we dyno or redyno.

All of Lloyds runs and his losses:

I'll squeeze 15 hp out of it and up to 620nm.
I wouldn't map the car like that though. Running so high EGT's is very stressful for the head, exhaust manifold and turbo.

5 hp more and about 40nm is possible though.

          P.S.
If you go through the gears, then the car with less boost and more timing, but 10hp less will overtake the car that is running more boost and less timing after about 4th.
This is assuming everything else being equal. On a single in-gear run the car with more boost and less timing will be faster.

I don't see why you compare those numbers, when corrected is the one you should be comparing.

Also, I am pretty sure Lloyd's car will be way faster, especially going through the gears.
I could have easily made over 400hp car on Lloyd's car. The target was not maximum power, the target was to have *continuous* power for the track. Cars that are set up like streetlight drag racers are not very fast on the autobahn for example.
Lloyd's car is running 5-8 degrees more timing across the range and 0.2 bar less boost.

I guess what I want to say is, there is more to a setup than hp and torque - that's why on a track, a N/A engine of equal power is very good - it does not heat up that much, it does not lose so much power because of IAT's going high etc.

I hope you can learn from this post, which will be the last one on the subject.
What power torque figures would a car heve mapped the one way compared to the other though the revs?

You did this in order to stress the engine less and be in the efficient range of the turbo? Or if you had a turbo that could supply more air efficient you would still choose less boost?

I did this so that IAT and EGT would not go as high.
Put your car in 6th gear and do a pull from 2000 to 7000 rpm, if you have a place.
Now reduce boost and increase timing and do the same.

You will complete the pull faster with the 2nd setup.
This is because there will be much less heat from the high EGT's and also the intercooler and all intake pipes won't heat up as quickly due to high IAT's.

Same on a track - you are flooring it all the time, so things get really hot.
It's much better to run lots of timing and less boost - the car will lose less of it's power over time, be more reliable and place less stress on it's components.

So you will be quicker around the track, yet stress the car less.
However, if you are using the car on the street, then it's good to map it to max power, because you will be rarely accelerating for prolonged periods of time.

Unless you are on the autobahn - but I always ask people if they will go with their cars to the autobahn, and map accordingly.
