Does anyone knows the part number of this sensor? I was wondering if I can use this on the stroker if I don't manage to make the other one work. I think it would be possible with vems.
Does anyone also knows how many degrees BTC this sensor reads?
Yes i have trigger errors. Had some above 6000 but now that i messed with the sensor holder i have above 4000.
I reduced the holder height by about 0.6mm and hope that it will solve the issues.
I am looking into posible solutions and since with the stroker and VEMS i have the posibility of another sensor position i am preparing. Anyone also knows if the AEL uses some sort of gasket sealant of somekind on there?
If i new better I would have take care of it when the engine was off the car, once and for all.
It seems i measured wrong the hole and the sensors. There was debree so the S2 crankshaft positioning sensor fits in the hole in the
AEL block. Now i must see if the diesel trigger wheel is usable with VEMS. I think if i manage to find out at what degrees these gaps occur then i can set the VEMS to ignore the other 3 pulses or maybe set it up so it ignites in every 8 event instead of every second with the stock flywheel pin.
...but first i must see if the changes to the stock bracket where succesful.
I am not even sure what vehicle the AEL came in. However, I can offer this AAN-related info in hopes that it might have some relevance for your solution:

AEL is the 2.5 diesel engine found in the early A6. It is let's say the evolution of the AAT diesel engine. It has the crankshaft positioning sensor on the block and not on the belhousing edge and reads inside the engine like the golf 4 tdi engines.
Okay. I have the Haynes C4 100/A6 manual and it covers the removal of the AEL engine speed sensor on pg. 4C-12 (Illustration 11.16). But it doesn't say anything useful.
Apparently the AEL ignition timing sender, i.e. the equivalent to the G4 in the AAN world, is the same as the V6 AAH one. Maybe that helps?

It seems the sensor is the same as in the ABY ect. The question remains: Is it usable?
Technically, I have to disagree. The ABY, AAN and ADU ignition timing sender is a different part no., i.e. 034905381. The AEL timing sender, 078905375, is the same as the AAH (V6) and ABC (??).
