    URQ 10v turbo injector seals

A friend of mine has just had a ur quattro turn up at work for new injector seals.

Typically it's been booked in under tfe assumption it's a normal fuel injector which ofcourse it isn't.

How delicate are the injectors on the mechanical fuel setup, any tips on removal and where to source the seals ?

He is a experienced mechanic, ex Audi technician from the s2 days so he is vaguely familiar with the ur setup but just wants to be assured it's not likely to be a job he wish he never took on.

    Cheers.

Its a very easy job, from memory you dont even need to disconnect the individual fuel lines.

The easiest way is to get a pair of long nose cranked pliers, grab the fuel line nut and leaver out keeping it in a straight line with the insert. Might pay to spray a little WD40 down there..

If he doesn't find a damaged "o" ring seal then take the plastic inserts out as well as they do crack and leak air.

As for where to get them i have not look for a very long time, try a Bosch parts supplier.

    Hope it helps..

    Darren.

Yes, leave the fuel lines connected.
You can also use the right size open ended spanner under the nut and lever them out, the plastic inserts can be sticky to remove, you need a very large allen key.
