Aux gauge readings... Faulty sensor?? Help??

    Hey all,
Have fitted my gauges and sensors, but think i have problems.... (1990 Audi 90 2.3E NG engine)

Can someone tell me what the oil temp reading should be when the car is up to temperature under normal driving?? Mine is sitting between 60 and the first bar after it.....

The oil pressure gauge is reading as it should, just a touch under 5bar when started cold, and settles down to 2bar once warm........

BUT.... Once the car reaches 3000rpm the oil warning on the auto check is coming on.....
When i swap poles on the sensor, the gauge doesn't work ie bounces right up to maximum reading, but i get no autocheck warning..... Is the sensor faulty? Are both sensors faulty??

    TIA
    Dan.

i think you dont have the right second sensor.
should be the 1.8 bar sensor....and is supposed to close the circuit at more than 1.8 bar.

        no...is the single one
the 2 pin is for the gauge and bulb....
The second is suposed to close to ground at 1.8 bar
iff the oil pressure control dosint get this ground at higher revs...will give you the beep and red signal

is strange that is giving you the signal at 3000rpm...at s2 and not only i knew is at 2000 rpm you should have minimum 1.8 bar..maibe i am wrong..

Maybe i have swapped out the wrong sensor, i took the bottom one out, and put the 2 pin one in there?
Should it have been the top one i swapped?

is possible...the one you took out....is a white one?
you have an multimeter?...iff yes...measure the resistance between the pin and the body at the one you removed...should be infinite...
The 2 pin one looks like is ok....the gauge is working ok....

                    yes...
put this white one in place off the single pin left on the engine and make another test..
                    goodluck!
