    Possible Oil Leak

We changed the oil on the RS2 today, but when I took the undertray off the car I discovered what looks like an oil leak
I did my best to trace where it comes from, and it looks like the PAS pump

Question is, how can I tell from the drips on the underside of the sump cover if they are engine oil or PAS fluid?
In any case, I assume the X-bolt on the PAS pump isn't supposed to have fluid/air bubbling round its edge...

THis *could* help you (it comes from a AEC V8 vane pump listing but I know it works on the AAN tandem vane type pump (and therefore I presume ABY and ADU)).

/\ Replace that o-ring. I also wrapped lots of PTFE tape around the threads on my plug, that helped a lot.

Do you have the X tool Al, or did you make do with a large screwdriver?

Ok, to replace this plug, I need to remove the connection on top of the PAS pump.
Do I need to do anything in preperation to take this off?
or do I just need to pump the brake pedal until hard, then remove the pipe and catch the dribbles?

No, just go ahead and undo it - assuming the engine isn't running

You might need an impact screwdriver with a big bit, or a chisel to get the plug out.

I would clean up the oil/pump first and then try and see where the fresh oil comes from. The pump X plug is a common leak though.

Check and replace the O rings on the other 2 small brass plugs too, mine was leaking from both.

The big banjo bolt that goes in the top of the pump has a mesh screen in it, this needs to be cleaned, if it is clogged it can cause the big O ring to fail

Thanks Newsh, do you have part numbers for these o-rings, or dimensions?

                          Ok, I have a problem.
There's a bracket holding the pipe over the top of the PAS pump in place... But i can't get a socket or spanner onto the bolt...
Can anyone give me advice on how to get the thing off?
