Still you are talking about wheel sizes Jamo when im referring to perfomance and spooling.
ok, so lets talk about wheel sizes just to add to your points...
Lets clear out something first:
You say:
GT3071= 5360
GT3076= 5760
Holset Super40= 6065
BUT as Billman says: holset turbine exducer/inducer is : 65/75
similarly GT3071 and 3076 is 55/60
SO its either going to be:
GT3071=5355
GT3076=5755
HX40=6065
OR
5360
5760
6075
respectively....
I believe that the 'other' diameter is also important, as it may give good info of the turbo.(ie extended tip or the turbine inducer being much closer to the exducer, making the turbine much bigger overall)
I was presented with a CT355 by CT back when i was using the 3071 as being better than the 3071 in lag and hp. From what i read now and from other people using them, i realise that this statement was inaccurate now, as it is better in hp, but probably worse in lag. But you cannot have everything in life!
On another note, i know of 2 greek CT turbo users which both had turbo failures within 1000kms of use. One of them was blamed to the mechanic not using proper restrictors on the oil feed, so the turbo starved. The second, was damaged pretty much within 500kms of use, everything was using within spec, turbo was shipped back to the US and took 3 months for a response which again was bearing failure due to oil starvation. However CT is unable to say if that was due to a bad connection or failure of parts. So no refund as of yet. The owner couldnt wait and already bought a GTX instead.
From those 2 above points im not that worried about turbo failures, as they can happen and garrett is not a company that hasnt had a few of their own!!! haha. What im more worried is the aftersales service... I would love to try one of those one day but im so worried that im going to be left without a car for months, which sets me off..

..it seems either Kai, CT themselves or Owen developments (as suggested by JP)
