Have been offered a STR manifold through the forum , just like the one that sold today in the for sale section , but I cant find out any information on them .... can anyone shed any light?

The STR cast manifold is basically a two branch pipe with five 90 deg inlets. It will not flow as well as an RS2 EM. And RS2 EM does not flow as well as a Wagner RS2 EVO EM.

STR log:
RS2 EM - at least there is some attention to flow and longer radius bends.

thanks il leave that one then and wait for an rs2/ wagnerThe STR cast manifold is basically a two branch pipe with five 90 deg inlets. It will not flow as well as an RS2 EM. And RS2 EM does not flow as well as a Wagner RS2 EVO EM.

Here is some more in-depth information, comparing log style vs collector style manifolds on the 2.7T.
All of this info is still applicable to 2.2T though.

All??? Disagree on "all". . The 2.7tt manifolds are nothing like the 2.2t manifolds. The 2.7tt manifolds have the flow from the 3 cylinders all flowing in the same direction to the turbo at the end of the manifold. With the 2.2t manifold, you have the flow from 2 or 3 cylinders flowing to the middle(ish) of the manifold where the flow from the remaining cylinders meets (collides with) the other flow before the exhaust flow enters the turbo. Much more difficult to create a good scavenging flow than with the 2.7tt manifolds.RS2'd 93 UrS4 5 spd sedan

I think you read too much into it. The entire analysis about log vs collector is perfectly applicable to 2.2T. That's what I meant by "all".All??? Disagree on "all". . In a 2.2T log manifold the hole is just in the middle, so imagine the 2.7T mani as a 2.2T with two runners cut off if you will and view it as half... I know this is pretty rough, but you are nitpicking
Point is that article provides a pretty good explanation about log vs collector, even if flow paths on 2.7 will be obviously different.Comment

Not "nitpicking". Pointing out that the 2.2t is two manifolds aimed at each other, meeting in the middle and therefore more care has to be taken to make sure that the flow out of the middle isn't restricted by the conflicting flows. This is not a problem on the 2.7tt manifold.
