I'm sorry to keep going on but it does sound like valve stem oil seals....as everything you have mentioned is virtually the same as mine....

whats it like when you coasting in traffic (just on over run), say upto a roundabout/lights/jct? and then what happens when you pull away??....blue smoke?....

Hi well today i tried a few more ideas but its still the same , yup im getting blue smoke on pull away and at random intervals

I asked another technician his thoughts today and he seems to think its also the valve stem oil seals and he puts the randomness of the smoking down to the fact that there probably lifting off there seat at random times - he also said there life span is only about 5 yrs on these older type seals

seeing as the car was up for sale just the other day due to family/life issues (which are still the same) I see no choice but to re offer the car for sale but at a reduced price

I had something similar to this last summer, it was the pcv system all blocked up. cleaned out all the relevant pipes etc and that sorted it.
With the engine idling, undo the oil filler cap. If there's pressure behind it (i.e a hiss when released) then you have excess crankcase pressure, and that should point you to your pcv system.

              Regards, Dan

have you had a gas meter up the exhaust while you start and stop it, to see the different readings, co and hc's

Hi all just wanted to update this.

I removed the downpipe after some advice and found some oil residue on the hotside of the turbo , managed to set a turbo from Sonic on here and the problem has gone !

So a massive thanks to all who commented or pointed me in the right direction, the advice on the forum is second to none

found this on the old turbo ! nice use of a 5 pence piece NOT!

And after all the action i gave her some love some updated lights and side repeaters

Did you tint the new fogs and indicators yourself or are they aftermarket items?
